Woof N’ Wags is a no-kill, cage-free, volunteer-run animal shelter in South Lebanon founded by Ghada and Joe. The shelter is home to 300+ rescue dogs saved from homelessness, neglect and abuse, as well as a pig, goats, and a cow rescued from slaughter.
A big heart can love that many animals, but it can’t feed and heal them. Rescue isn’t free. Woof N’ Wags provides the facilities, time, care, and expertise — all of which requires regular funding. By responding to community calls about injured stray or abused dogs, we provide a service for the community, but it’s only with the community’s support that we can do our work.
Yet Woof N' Wags receives no governmental or organizational funding. The shelter is located in a country with practically zero dog adoption rate. We sustain and spay/neuter our dogs solely through a handful of donations from Lebanese expatriates and the international dog lover community.
As economic depression and record inflation grip Lebanon, its animals are suffering. The desperate situation and economic meltdown are resulting in extreme and inexcusable pet abandonment, putting pressure on our already full and resource-strained dog shelter.
To make matters worse, until recently, the South Lebanon region (where the shelter is located) has been bombed daily, with our rescues stuck in the midst of the current Middle East war, putting at risk all the dogs we've rescued and everything we've built.
We promise every animal we rescue that they never have to experience fear, pain, or humiliation ever again. Please help us keep that promise by donating today. Let’s put our hands (and paws!) together and be the animal-friendly nation we wish to see.
